I've been playing fiddle/violin for 40 years now. I've taught at Mark O'Connor's fiddle camp, played the Grand Ole Opry countless times, toured the world with many bands, played twin fiddles on stage with Mark O'Connor, Aubrey Haynie, Buddy Spicher, Andy Leftwich, and other great players. I only say this to emphasize I've seen some of the best up close. I don't consider myself equal to any of them by any stretch; I was simply lucky to fall into some things. Right now I'm driving a couple hours to a funeral where I'll be playing this tune. I decided to listen to some videos since I've never played this tune. I've heard it plenty, so i can get through a basic version. But i thought I'd listen and possibly steal some ideas. I played 6 or 8 videos and figured that was good, I had some ideas. I was going to close the app and noticed the next video was twin fiddles, and I love twin fiddles, so I decided to listen to one more. Best decision I've made in some time. I've listened to this half a dozen times in the last few minutes. I doubt either of you will ever see this, but on the off-chance, I want you to know this is by far the best, most passionate, emotion filled version of this beautiful tune I've ever heard. I can't quit listening. It brings tears to my eyes. Thank you both for sharing. My best friend and I both have 5-strings, and we will be learning this. Thank you for posting this, and sharing your talent and hard work with us. This is the quintessential version of this tune, now.

It sounds like this catchy tune can be played in G, but also in the key of F and A. I would prefer the Key of G. Great tune as a hornpipe for sailors to dance to.
